About Eben Cooper

The Cooper Family Have Worked These Lands For Close To A Hundred Years And Have Long Held The Belief That Hunting Plays An Integral Role In The Survival Of Africa’s Wildlife. This Heritage Is Core To Eben Cooper’s Stewardship Of The Family Ranch And Business, Inherited From His Father In 2006.

Andrew Cooper was a legendary figure in the African hunting world, but Eben, at just 16, decided to forge his own path away from the family business. He learnt his trade while travelling across the continent. – his first job in hunting was as a ranger for the world-renowned Lood De Clerk Safaris. At Eisterhuizen Hunting Lodge he then earned his reputation as one of Africa’s premier hunt guides, shepherding high-tier international clients in their quest for ‘The Big Five’.

Upon his father’s death, Eben returned home to inherit his father’s world renowned ranch and Wildlife Preserve, which he has taken to greater heights in the past 17 years. Now Cooper Safaris, which Eben runs with his wife, National Equestrian Champion Gwyneth Cooper, are at the forefront of ethical hunting.

“Hunting is the blood of this land, It provides for us and we have a responsibility to give back to it.“

Eben’s Wife continues the theme:

“It is through the adventure and thrill of the Safari that we earn the living that sustains these great animals and gives them the future they deserve. My husband, our two children and I see the Cooper family as guardians of a place that is, for me, the most beautiful landscape on Earth.”
